Gyojin Murakami Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Gyōjin began his artistic career as a painter then later switched to making prints. His woodblock prints included the eleven pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Gyōjin typically drew the shapes of his picture subjects accurately but he was often creative when coloring them.
